’Crossland’ a rare black mohair teddy bear 1910-20s, with black boot button eyes, pronounced clipped muzzle, unusual white stitched nose, mouth and five claws, swivel head, jointed limbs with glazed ribbed cotton pads, hump and inoperative growler —17 1/2in. (44.5cm.) high (slight wear); and photographs of a small girl with a similar black bear from a studio in Oxford, the back inscribed in pencil ‘C Crossland - 70 Moorgate’
