SOLD (1940) Label 2 Arthur £85
Arthur is a lovely Merrythought bear made during the period when materials were rationed in the 1940s. He still has his label but it is no longer legible. He has a fair covering of mohair and his bare fabric is marked in places. He has all of his original felt pads that have a few tiny nibble holes on his paws but otherwise have survived well. He has all of his original claw stitching and his original nose and mouth. His vintage glass eyes are replacements but suit him very well. His arm and leg joints are a little loose but he still sits well and poses nicely. He has a kapok stuffed body, a wood wool filled head and measures just under 17 inches long. In all Arthur is a very sweet ted who does shows his age but is full of character. He has the most wonderful, soft, kind face.
