(1907) Hecla Tommy For sale £1295

Tommy is a very rare Hecla. He is in good condition. He has a good covering of white mohair and a pronounced snout with cinnamon stitching. He is a little hard of hearing! His ear is set low on his head. His mohair is in good condition for someone of 117 years old. He has a hump back and very long arms, and one eye has been replaced

From his previous owner "This guy is a special one. I have had him for many years in my collection. He is missing an ear, but has all his original parts, no repairs have ever been done. (maybe on one leg there is a small area of old thread, but that might be where they put the stuffing in) He came to me with a replaced eye.
He measures  a good 16". He is mohair, stuffed with woodwool, with felt paws. His paws and feet all have original stitching on them (claws).
His mohair is worn in areas and slightly soiled in a few areas, and he has several holes in his felt paws and feet, but overall very nice condition considering his age!
He is adorable and a very early Teddy Bear."
This company began making bears to be Americas answer to the successful German Steiff bear. The company made their bears to be almost identical to Steiff bears, they even imported the mohair from Germany! Yet, the company did not advertise much and was out of business in two years. These adorable and handsome bears are very hard to find!
