(1908) Bing. Oliver

Oliver is a very early bear made between 1908-1910. He has wonderful Steiff like proportions, very long arms, high hump, big feet and spoon shaped paws. He is entirely wood wool filled. His original pads are over all in good condition, a few moth nibbles (no holes) and a small felt insert on his right paw.

He has had a little restoration. He has had a new nose and mouth restitched and he has been given some replacement authentic antique boot button eyes. His ears were very loose so they have been securely stitched back into place, they are sewn into the side of his head which again points to him being a very early ted.

He has a fair to good covering of mohair with a few patchy spots on his left arm, the right side of his face and around his right ear. His wood wool filling has broken down in his left arm making it quite floppy, I imagine this has been caused by someone once carrying him around by it.

He measures just under 18 inches long and I can feel what I think is a non working squeaker or growler in his tummy.

He no longer has his Bing ID but I went to a friend of mine who is an expert who confirmed for me that he is an early Bing bear.
