(1910) Bing Tripple Trapple

This is a very early Tripple Trapple Bear circa 1910 called Trupple
He still goes along but his back legs are stiff.
He is rare and hard to find.
He has black boot button eyes.
His nose is good, so good in fact, I am not sure if it has been re-done.
He is quite large at 11 inches long and 8 inches high.
He is bald with no mohair but this adds to his charm.
He is stuffed with straw.
He is intact but could do with some stitching at the back of his legs, and needs the material pulling round the metal and stitching.

He has lots of character.

By 1910 this was quite an old fashioned toy. The mechanical walking animals like this had been produced since the late 19th century. Can you imagine a child in 1908-10, before the First World War, who would be lucky enough to have a moving toy bear like this? Amazing!
