(1915) Bing. Tag mark
A magnificent Bing with the outline and holes of his button on his neck. He has long arms (length, 11 inches) and torso (10 inches in length, 10 inches width) and is 21 ins tall. Pronounced muzzle. Fully jointed, wood wool filled. Horizontal nose stitching, Y shaped mouth. Strong looking legs with pronounced feet (Legs length 9.5 inches, Feet length 5 inches) Alert cupped ears sewn to front of head. The paw pads could be recovered as there is visible stitching present. His eyes might be very old replacements because they are not firmly secured (can be pulled out to reveal they are on wires). There is some visible stitching to his cloth foot pads too. Pronounced hump Front final closing seam. A strikingly handsome early antique teddy bear, made by Bing, dating 1915. In overall very good condition for age, with a fully functional growler that still emits a lovely growl when teddy is tilted back and forth. Leg seams are at the front .Appended is Ken Yenkes book on Bing Bears
