(1915) 27" Farnham
This beautiful Farnell has the look of the original Farnell Winnie-the-Pooh. Made circa 1915, he is a rare huge size, standing just over 68 cm (27") tall. He retains about 70 percent of his dark blonde mohair, with most of the loss on the front torso.
His huge glass eyes and nose stitching are original. His glass eyes have been glued back in but are in excellent condition. His mouth looks restitched. He has a patch on his nose, as well as a lot of darning on the entire nose and mouth — see photos. One ear was partly re-attached, but both ears are original.
His paw/foot pads are all replaced, as is his web claw stitching; but his foot claws look original, and several are loose. He has some darning and a tear at one ankle.
He is firmly stuffed with woodwool, but his limbs are somewhat loose.
Having said all of this, his nose patch isn't as obvious in person as it is in the photo; and for all his age issues, this rare fellow is still an absolutely gorgeous, sturdy bear with a stunning presence, and displays beautifully! He has that great classic, pre-1920 Farnell look.
