SOLD (1930) A Wishbone Button Dandy £75
Dandy is a very charming early Merrythought character teddy bear dating from early 1930s, bearing the back of an original button. He is made of pale golden mohair, feels to be stuffed with kapok throughout the body and wood-wool in the muzzle. He is fully jointed, has got dark orange and black glass eyes, black vertically stitched replaced nose with outer stitches pointing down and inverted Y shape mouth stitching He has replacement felt pads and paws in very good condition, four webbed claws stitched to paws, three claws to feet and a large inoperative squeaker. He has his original celluloid button in his left ear which is in well loved condition with celluloid missing and only metal button left. Dandy is wearing an old well loved brown velvet top, which is probably the same age as he is. Dandy is approx. 22'' tall, in well loved vintage condition with general wear, thinning and balding, repairs and restorations .You can find more information in "Millers. Teddy Bears.
