Hunter (1940) Label Hunny. Sold £140

‘Hunny' a Hunter Toys teddy bear 1940s, with golden wool plush, orange and black glass eyes, pronounced muzzle, black stitched nose, mouth and claws, swivel head, jointed limbs with brown cloth pads and printed label in front seam ‘Hunter Toys British Made’ —16in. (40.5cm.) high (balding to body, other bald patches and wear, face stitching probably replaced)

Teddy a photo of another Hunter bear, has just been sent from Australia. 

"Teddy” was a given to me by my parents when I was about 2 years old for a Christmas Present when I lived in a small village in North Devon. He has since “lived” in Bournemouth, then Oxford and in July 2006 he came with us to our current home here in Mandurah in Western Australia." This dates him to 1948. Thank you Rod!
