(1907) American BMC Label
Antique American 13" BMC Apricot Bear c 1907, Robinson. He has apricot mohair and his BMC label on his foot pad. These bears were only made for a short period of time around 1907. Robinson has the following Bruin Manufacturing Company features: Small rounded ears set wide apart on head give a fox-like appearance, shoe-button eyes, five claws (few missing on foot), vertically stitched nose remnants, long arms, felt pads and large oval feet. Combination of excelsior and kapok with non-working squeaker. Bear has old recovers on pads with cut-out to reveal silk label. His neck is very wobbly as is typical on these bears with neck ribbon added for stability. His mohair has some thinning and fading but is clean. He comes in a patriotic red sailor's jacket. The quality of this bear measures that of Steiff however, he is even more rare. Please take care of Robinson, named after the family who owned him.
