(1920) Bing. Munro
Munro is a 12 in., very sweet, antique teddy bear. I was told by an expert that this is a Bing teddy bear from the 1920 era. It also looks like a Steiff to me. No identifying tags or buttons indicating the maker of this bear. Made of mohair and has a charming sweet face! Jointed at the neck, arms and hips. Hump on back. Excelsior stuffed. Original amber glass eyes. Shaved muzzle. Very long stitched smile extending the width of the muzzle. Distinctive horizontal nose stitching nicely framed. Four stitched claws on each paw. Original felt pads with some light wear. Non-working growl mechanism inside his torso. There is some mohair loss and some wear to the felt pads exposing a little excelsior. One area on the belly is missing mohair and has a repair. He still has quite a bit of mohair.
