zEalontoys (1930) Professor. Hazel Smith
Showcased by Hazel Smith
Cuddly 24" Ealontoys teddy bear dating from the 1930s, with growler. No holes, no repairs. Excellent coverage of thick, soft, clean mohair, a very good quality bear of his day--possibly not played with due to his large size. Chubby limbs with upturned upper paws and drumstick shaped legs. Large cupped ears. Well embroidered nose and mouth. Slightly dropped stitches at each side of nose. Amber and black glass eyes.
Felt paw pads, perfect except for one very tiny moth hole. Working growler, all excellent original condition.
Ealontoys -the East London Federation Toy Factory-was established by Sylvia Pankhurst in 1914 to provide employment for women. Sadly it closed in the 1950s.
