Brigitte Smith. Ashkii 2016 Sold £230

Ashii  by Brigitte Smith, Pawtrait Bears with trissavel fur, wired skeletal frame and moulded features, 2016 —22in. (56cm.) high

The bear totem brings great support and comfort, she is the symbol of nurturing and motherhood. She encourages healing of spiritual, mental and physical wounds, and is associated with the underground earth energy of roots and herbs. When the bear spirit animal joins you on life's path, she will provide strength, for she is a most powerful ally.

Ashkii measures 21 inches standing, and is made from a superb quality, tissavel fur, which has a black undercoat and the darkest of brown guard hairs. He is a very poseable bear cub, having a wired skeletal frame, this enables him to lie, sit and stand on all fours, in very natural bear positions. He has realistic claws and suede paw pads. My creativity flows best when I'm working on the animals I see roaming around inside my head. I feel drawn to create powerful looking Power/ totem animals, and each one is totally unique. Every animal has a one piece body over a wired skeletal frame ,which enables them to make many realistic poses. As I strive for realism many hours go into bringing each one to life. I hope you will enjoy seeing them as much as I enjoy making them
